Save reblogs for Tumblr!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Well, Where Was I?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My memory is blurry but, I remember being home, I was about to start as a Freshman at OSU commuting from my parent&#8217;s house. I don&#8217;t think classes had started yet or they were about to shortly<sup data-fn=\"dd44f8c4-26af-4e49-9e9d-114f8775f38d\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#dd44f8c4-26af-4e49-9e9d-114f8775f38d\" id=\"dd44f8c4-26af-4e49-9e9d-114f8775f38d-link\">3<\/a><\/sup>. I think I  woke up after the plane hit the first tower. My mom must have woken me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was at the point where I had broadband internet (and free cable from the aforementioned broadband internet). I think I tuned into CNN to watch the subsequent attacks in realtime. I don&#8217;t remember much else from that day other being somewhat scared and watching the news. No one knew exactly what was happening. It was all speculation for a while. This was also well before you could follow events like this reliably on the internet. There was no social media. This whole time period for me is a blur mostly because I was already deeply overwhelmed about college. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I do remember the subsequent weeks where it seemed like that an almost propagandized sense of patriotism became true. A moment of mass trauma response where people seemed to care about one another. That quickly subsided as American muslims were targeted and things like the Patriot Act<sup data-fn=\"71e7ff2b-ca72-40dc-a33f-400dd59c738f\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#71e7ff2b-ca72-40dc-a33f-400dd59c738f\" id=\"71e7ff2b-ca72-40dc-a33f-400dd59c738f-link\">4<\/a><\/sup> were put into law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I do remember starting to follow politics a bit more (as I really hadn&#8217;t while I was in high school). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I do think of it as a milestone moment in history, much like the COVID-19 pandemic is in the most recent past. Things were different after that. Hard to detail specifics, but things were definitely just different culturally after that moment.<sup data-fn=\"71211095-d35a-4811-a66b-f96f904a4bae\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#71211095-d35a-4811-a66b-f96f904a4bae\" id=\"71211095-d35a-4811-a66b-f96f904a4bae-link\">5<\/a><\/sup> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<ol class=\"footnotes wp-block-footnotes has-medium-font-size\"><li id=\"5238f646-e582-4d18-8e92-a467e0d6d6a3\">As we&#8217;ve definitely not committed any crimes yet.  <a believe is a turning point to how we got to NOW. <a href=\"#71e7ff2b-ca72-40dc-a33f-400dd59c738f-link\" aria-label=\"Jump to footnote reference 4\">\u21a9\ufe0e<\/a><\/li><li id=\"71211095-d35a-4811-a66b-f96f904a4bae\">For example how everyone noticed films or TV shows that featured the Twin Towers, or how they had to change things like the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Spider-Man_(2002_film)#Filming\">Spider-Man movie in response.<\/a> <a href=\"#71211095-d35a-4811-a66b-f96f904a4bae-link\" aria-label=\"Jump to footnote
