Hello and welcome to quite possibly the final roundup of the year. Can you believe it?
I may get another one before the year buzzer goes off but only if everyone is good.
I am working on reflecting on this year and start planning for the next. I’ve figured out my theme for next year which I’ll probably post about soon.
Make sure you take time for yourself if you can.
Let’s get to the roundup!
This seems too optimistic for a very old power grid in the US.
One of my favorite new traditions is to watch Mark Rober deploy his glitter bomb across doorsteps to torture package thieves. I literally laughed out loud when I saw the solution they came up with to ensure they were stolen during the day.
I had no idea Roblox was this big. No matter how popular it is, the scammy ecosystem they’ve built should come crumbling down. See also the first part of this series.
Game Maker’s Toolkit does another review of this years games in terms of accessibility. The good news is things keep getting better.
Someone built a computer within Minecraft that can play Snake, and more importantly Tetris.
Oh how I loved my Springboard Visor. I had a pop out physical keyboard for it so I could write on it, and then sync it to Microsoft Outlook. Palm was always ahead of its time. Even WebOS led to many of the gestures we use on iOS and Android.
What the heck is happening in Ohio?
Did you ever notice how pervasive notification sounds are in our lives? Do you want to simulate the tired office life of thousands of them going off every second? Now you can with Busy Simulator.
Well that’s all for now. If everyone behaves I’ll have one more for you later this year? Or if I’m feeling adventurous, perhaps a YEARLY roundup? Absolutely no promises.
Thank you for reading and I take back all stuff I’ve said about you this week.
