A Firefox Tip

I’ve helped several people make the switch over to Firefox. But many people don’t have the time or the know-how to explore all of its functionality. A cool feature that Firefox can implement is to open EVERY link in a new tab. So you would only have to deal with one Firefox window. I use this feature, so when ever I click a link in someones AIM profile, or an e-mail, it opens in a new tab in my current Firefox Window.

How do you do it?

First go to your address bar and type “about:config”
Next in the filter bar type “browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs” .

Double click on the result so that it says “True” under the value column.

Next restart Firefox, and go to Tools>Options>Advanced

Scroll to the Tabbed Browsing section. Select Force links that open new windows to open in a new tab.

Then you’re all set. Enjoy the power of Firefox. Also you might be interested in the latest update for more secure browsing.
